‘Living legend’ Tiger Woods (48) returns.

The US Professional Golf (PGA) Tour Genesis Invitational (total prize money of 20 million dollars) will be held at the Riviera Country Club (par 71) in Pacific Palisades, near Los Angeles, California, for four days from the 17th (hereafter Korean time).

It is a special event held for two consecutive weeks following the previous WM Phoenix Open. As most of the top rankers such as Scotty Scheffler (USA), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), and John Rahm (Spain) participated, interest increased, and even Woods, the ‘Emperor of Golf’, participated and reached the finish line.

It’s a comeback after about 7 months. After missing the cut at the Open Championship, a major tournament in July of last year, Woods did not participate in the remaining PGA tournaments, saying he would focus on rehabilitation and training. He only briefly appeared with his son, Charlie Woods, at the PNC Championship, an event held in December.

The aftermath of the car overturn accident in February 2021 remains. At the time, it was such a big accident that his right shin bone was shattered. Woods, who survived after a major operation in which an iron rod was inserted into his shin bone and his foot and ankle bones were fixed with screws and pins, worked hard on rehabilitation to return to the field. 안전놀이터

Support poured out for him when he announced his official return to the Masters Tournament, a major tournament in April of last year. However, the performance could not be the same as before. In his comeback, he finished 47th and withdrew from the PGA Championship held a month later after the third round. He did not participate in the US Open in June and focused on improving his performance, but he failed to achieve satisfactory results in the Open in July. Woods, who did that, participates in a regular tour competition where he has to walk all four rounds. It seems that it will be possible to gauge how much his physical condition and performance are.

Meanwhile, Im Seong-jae, a Korean golf player, also participates. He proved his competitiveness by tying for 6th at the last Phoenix Open. In addition, Lee Gyeong-hoon, Kim Si-woo, Kim Seong-hyun, Kim Joo-hyung, and Kim Young-soo, winner of the Korea Professional Golf (KPGA) Korean Tour Genesis Championship, were also invited to challenge.
