Reporter Moon Seong-dae = Major League Baseball (MLB) Los Angeles Angels manager Phil Nevin said he is not worried about Shohei Ohtani, a key player, participating in the 5th World Base Ball Classic (WBC).

Ohtani visited the Angels camp on the 15th (Korean time) and received a physical fitness test. Director Nevin watched this with satisfaction.

Ohtani is the starting pitcher and center hitter for the team. Since he is actually a player who plays the role of two people, from the manager’s point of view, he has no choice but to be concerned.

However, coach Nevin said, “Ohtani is well prepared as a pitcher and hitter. He is not worried even if he quickly improves his condition by participating in the WBC.” 안전놀이터

He went on to say, “I know Ohtani thinks playing for Japan is special. It’s special for the whole baseball world.”

Meanwhile, WBC USA coach Mark DeRosa predicted that Ohtani would make the mound at the most important moment.
