The fear has come true. Kim Ha-seong (28, San Diego Padres) has been removed from the starting lineup against the New York Yankees after being hit in the knee by a foul ball.

Kim was not named to the starting lineup for the first game of the three-game series against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y., on Sunday at 8:05 a.m. ET. It’s the aftermath of an injury he suffered the day before.

Kim started in the No. 7 spot in the lineup against the Washington Nationals on June 26 and was removed during his first at-bat. Down 0-1 with two outs in the second inning, Kim fouled off a second pitch from starter Jake Irvin, and the unfortunate pitch struck Kim in the left knee. Kim fell to the ground and screamed in pain before heading to the dugout with a trainer.

Luckily, it wasn’t a serious injury. X-rays came back negative and he avoided the injury list. “Fortunately, they said everything was fine. “It’s just a bruise,” he said, “but it’s a little hard to walk around now. We’ll have to see how it goes.”

In his third year in the big leagues, Kim is batting .233 with seven doubles, five home runs, 16 runs scored and six stolen bases in 47 games. He started the season as the starting second baseman and recently took over at third base when Manny Machado went down with a fractured finger.토토사이트

Kim’s exclusion from the starting lineup completely reshuffles the San Diego infield. Lugned O’Dowd slips into the third base glove, with Brandon Dixon at first base, Jake Cronenweth at second and Xander Bogaerts at shortstop. The lineup is Fernando Tatis Jr. (right field)-Cronenworth (second base)-Juan Soto (left field)-Bogartz (shortstop)-Odoerr (third base)-Matt Carpenter (designated hitter)-Dixon (first base)-Trent Grisham (center field)-Austin Nola (catcher). The starting pitcher is Joe Musgrove.

The Yankees, meanwhile, have a lineup of Glavier Torres (second base)-Aaron Judge (right field)-Anthony Rizzo (first base)-DJ LeMahieu (third base)-Harrison Vader (center field)-Willie Calhoun (designated hitter)-Anthony Wolfe (shortstop)-Izaiah Kiner-Palepa (left field)-Ben Lottbet (catcher). The starting pitcher is Randy Vasquez.
