New York Mets left-hander starter Jose Quintana (34) had a setback in preparation for the season.

The Mets announced the news of Quintana’s injury on the 7th (Korean time).

As a result of Quintana’s examination that day, a microscopic stress fracture was found in his left fifth rib. I plan to move to New York for additional checkups.

The Mets added that more information, including expected recovery time, will be released at an appropriate time after additional examinations.

Quintana took the mound in the bottom of the 3rd inning of an away game against the St. Louis Cardinals held the previous day, but felt a problem with his side and was thrown out after one inning. An examination revealed a problem with his ribs.

He was scheduled to play for the Colombian national team in the World Baseball Classic (WBC). This, too, has practically failed. 스포츠토토

Quintana signed a two-year, $26 million contract with the Mets ahead of this season.

This season, he was slated to sustain the Mets starting rotation alongside Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, Senga Kodai and Carlos Carrasco. If Quintana’s vacancy is prolonged, David Peterson and Tyler Megil are expected to take his place.

Last season, he went 6-7 with a 2.93 ERA, throwing 165 2/3 innings in 32 appearances for both the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals. He allowed 0.4 home runs per 9 innings, the fewest in the major leagues.

During his 11 seasons in the major leagues, he recorded 315 appearances, 89 wins, 87 losses, and an earned run average of 3.75. He was voted an All-Star in 2016.
